Another plus to a drop spreader over a cone spreader is its not trowing the material onto your equipment

At first I thought I would like to work at a dealer like this to play with all the equipment like the employees were doing in the snow. But then I thought a little deeper and concluded I would come home with too many of the toys and all of my pay checks would be going to them.

I would like to see a self loading drop spreader with a hydro top link to allow you to back into a pile of compost and retract the top link to lift the spreader back up once full and then drive down raised beds to drop spread the material. Or a tractor bucket that could act as a drop spreader. All the drop spreaders I have seen are to small and I have only ever seen 1 home built self loading drop spreader probably because of the cost.
