What was the First Council of Constantinople? What heresey was condemned at the First Council of Constantinople. There were various topics discussed in the Council of Constantinople I (381 AD) and it was initially convened as a local council. It was then recognised as the second 'Ecumenical Council.' In this video, we'll go over the details behind the council and what resulted from it.

The time of the Cappadocian fathers was a difficult time for the Church.
Sabellianism and Apollinarianism were on the rise while the danger of Arianism
and Pneumatomachians (or Macedonians) persisted. Sabellianism claimed that
there is only one hypostasis (or person) which was manifested in three different
modes: the Father in the Old Testament, the Son in the New Testament and the
Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
