FYI- That friction cutting wheel is terrible on aluminum, as the aluminum heats up it softens which causes all the slag and burrs on the edge of your aluminum.

Another thing to take into consideration is the fact that you will lose excess aluminum at every cut when you use one of those abrasive wheels, (not so much on steel or hard metals) which would probably account for the .2 millimeter difference in your cuts. That saw is perfectly fine for cutting metal, you're not doing heavy construction with it, but seeing as how you're handy and like to build things, why not invest in a decent toothed metal cutting blade? They do make them, you get incredibly sharp and precise Cuts with them, with a minimum loss of material in the process.
