As a Catholic you captured our definition of free will rather accurately. Well done! I’m surprised you didn’t cite 1 Timothy 2:4 along with John 3:16.

Catholic theology doesn’t track with Protestant Calvinism much if at all. The only things I can think of which Catholics and Calvinists have in common would be believing the existence of God and, although our interpretations would be wildly different, a respect for Sacred Scripture.

We may have more in common with Protestant Arminians on the surface but while Catholics believe in free will and grace, we do not believe this is a license to sin. Read Matthew 24:13.
