Looking for grants to create senior housing. Ideas? I'm in Virginia. The active communities are over 3000 monthly and they don't offer any medical or nutritional help. I can do better but I need to get the $$ for land or to create AGE IN PLACE renovations to a property.

My local HUD list is CLOSED indefinitely. All the options are in unsafe areaa, moldy, and bad in general and the majority are apartments, not houses. Its absolutely terrible. The list has been closed a long time.

We do NOT lack housing here. New houses, duplexes and apartments are constantly being built. In fact most residents are thoroughly disappointed in the constant building of more apartment complexes all over town.
Everything here is expensive. The median rent is $2100 now.

Its insane. I'm on SSDI. I have help but not for much longer. I'm going to look into grants and things to help me.

I hate to ask this, but can you clarify what do you mean by waitlist is not as bad as they seem because the waiting list are long they could be between two and five years long so can you clarify what did you mean?

Unfortunately we don't qualify, because we make $1 too much. Even though we are disabled veterans and only get 1100 a month.
