Memories. I have or had many of the LPs you showed. In other cases I had singles by the artist though not the LPs they were on. This video was a nice little ride.

Hey Kenny…as a kid in the late 60’s my Mom and her friends were spinning albums from the bands Mercy (Love can make you happy), Vanity Fair (Early in the morning), Gladys Knight and The Doors!

You're wearing that "Abbey Road" T well !! Early Etta is great.. although I dig her 1990's output even more ! saw Sinatra in 1977 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Aretha is my #1 as well !! Cool video..✌'Caroline, No' is my favorite Beach Boys also.. Brian absolutely loved that song !

I was young in the '60s. We only had AM radio in the car. But, man! So...The 5th Dimension, The Association, The Buckinghams, The Monkees, The J5, The Doors, Three Dog Night, Rare Earth, Blood Sweat & Tears, The Beatles, Stones, Motown, Hendrix, Sly, Santana, etc.
Classics IV is a cool group! Many, including myself, seem to forget about them (I just turned a co-worker onto them last week. He was talking about the Atlanta Rhythm Section & "Spooky". Burst his bubble when I told him it was a cover). :-)

I just bought that We Five album myself. Underrated song on that is their cover of Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love”

When I read the title, I immediately thought of the Chambers brothers, as they hit all of those categories. I was surprised at the diversity of taste described hare, but I guess that befits a man with so many records stacked in the background of his videos. I sense many collectors lack such an appreciation of the music, and almost collect records as objects. I might, if Kenny the audiophile isn't already aware, as A kind of a pay back, recommend the T.A.M.I. show, a pay for view concert show that has some of the acts mentioned here preforming live, with Glen Campbell distinctly heard in the house band, along with a surprising amount of other uncredited people in the production who became famous, available to view on YouTube. It's really a fascinating time capsule, with all the editing done live in the camera. James Brown said it contained his best recorded performance.

To answer your question, why do bands or groups break up? The most common known is financial fallouts. The other reason is that members of the group may feel as if they have reached an end of giving the audience quality material, which causes a split into different directions. There is one group that had a hit from that time period that gets kind of overlooked for some reason? The group was (The Happenings) song (See You in September). I wonder if you have that hit and band in your collection? A couple of more that I liked from that era in the same realms of Patula Clark's (Downtown) was Skeeter Davis song (The End of the World) & and there was a couple of versions of this song but I like this one the most. Gale Garrett song. (We'll sing in the Sunshine).👍

I was never into The Beatles. Personally I think they were overated as a result of good publicity, a few hits and mass hysteria. I love The Ventures, The Shadows, Petula Clark, Dave Clark Five, Nancy Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Bee Gees, Cliff Richard, Chicago Transit Authority, Serge Gainsbourg, Johnny Hallyday and most of the ones you showed us
