If compare them the old hidden mode is still harder because all the late game towers like golden towers accelerators rangers and supporter units were weaker, and there was no good aoe twoers, and most of the good new twoers now didn't exist, so the old spam was incredibly difficult or near impossible to deal with.

creator was stronger. we didnt have towers like engineer, op g mini, op ranger. and other stuff in 2021
you cant say creator was weaker cause of a 50k health difference
hiddenwave also had mechanical rot, unknowns, glitched giants, bugs, sct, and more. creator could also spawn developers 1-3 which had lots of hp with medium speed.
