In this video I show you how to cook a prime rib roast on a pellet grill! Now first things first....if you're after that perfect medium rare prime rib you're gonna want to pull the prime rib off once it hits and internal temperature of 120. But if you're after a medium prime rib this video is for you!

The pellet grill I use for this prime rib is my Pitts and Spitts Maverick 1250. I ran the pellet grill low for half the cook and finished it off hot for the 2nd half to get that nice crust. If you're wanting to cook a hot and fast prime rib I highly suggest that you let the roast sit out on the counter for at-least an hour before the cook to it cooks evenly.

If you'e nervous about cooking a prime rib roast on a pellet grill and you want to do 1 for Christmas go out and get yourself a smaller one and do a practice cook before the big day! But to be honest, cooking a prime rib roast is super simple to do and you really don't have a thing to worry about! Thanks for watching!

Things I Used

Had a hard time finding this online. The local store here where I live sells it.

Your timing is perfect once again, planned to smoke a 3 bone creek stone farms prime rib on the Gateway UDS but after watching your video heading to Walmart today to grab a PR and serve that to the masses on Xmas, thanks for that inspiration, if I can get close to what you achieved I’ll be happy 🍖👍
