How to install Deep Cool Gammaxx 400 V2 to AM4 socket, 4k
Показать описание
This video shows step by step instructions on how to install Deep Cool Gammaxx 400 V2 CPU cooler onto an AMD AM4 socket motherboard, without removing the motherboard from the case.
Replacing Ryzen's 3600 ineffective stock AMD Wraith Stealth cooler with the Gammaxx 400 lowered maximum CPU temperatures from 95 degrees to around 77-78 degrees under Cinebench testing. Since the new Gammaxx cooler is much more effective than the stock one, its fan is spinning slower which in turn means that it is working quieter. Positive side effect of a more powerful CPU cooler is better airflow in the case and lowering of the GPU temperatures for several degrees under gaming conditions (and at the same time GPU fan is spinning at a lower speeds).
Step by step instructions:
1. Remove stock AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler by unplugging power cable from motherboard and removing four screws that are connecting it to motherboard.
2. Replace stock mounting bracket on the back of the motherboard with the one which came with the Deep Cool Gammaxx cooler.
3. Using alcohol, clean all traces of old thermal paste from the CPU.
4. Install plastic washers and metal spacers.
5. Install mounting brackets onto a Gammaxx 400, making sure to orient them correctly.
6. Apply thermal paste to the CPU.
7. REMOVE protective cover from the bottom of the cooler.
8. Install and tighten four mounting screws, securing the cooler onto the motherboard.
9. Mount the fan onto the cooler using provided clips. The fan should be facing memory slots. It is a lot easier if you first clip the fan on top side and then clip it on a side facing the graphics card
10. Connect fan’s power cable to a motherboard, paying attention to proper orientation of the connector.
