God damn it. This is the 5th video I watched and this is the only method that worked for me. Everybody else who did these tutorial videos were clicking on folders and directories that I don't have on my Ubuntu desktop. Thank you. This took WAY too fucking long to figure out.

How do I create a shortcut to a FOLDER and retain its orig. path and parent folder?
When I try it, its parent folder becomes Desktop, which I don't want. Thanks.

what about reversed ? as in i downloaded a .jar file wich is a bot for a game i made it executable chmod +x to make it work but now its a shortcut to open the program on my desktop
can i turn this shortcut into an app ? by moving it to the applications folder ?

Desktop Icons and Desktop use as a storage facility is not a great idea in Linux - better to lock items to launcher-dock and use Documents folder etc for file storage
