The BIGGEST advantage (from a 47yo guitarist) is ear protection. I have tinnitus (ringing in the ear) and mild hearing loss from years of loud guitar/music. I wish I had invested in IEMs 25 years ago.. If ur a musician this is truly one of the best investments u can make in older you... Basically they silence all the loud ambient noise and delver your mix at a safe, clear level. Another great review!

I have a pair of T2s too that need repairing (essentially the cable connection is too loose). Would you recommend instead getting this or getting my old pair repaired?

Loving the comedy in this one! Thanks! I never really understood IEM's and I certainly didn't know about the custom molding! That's definitely going to give much better passive cancellation than most in-ears. And it makes sense, musicians are on-stage with loud instruments all around them and they need to hear their own mix so these things MUST be good but.... my brain is still going "Are they better for passive noise cancelling than over-the-ears headphones?"

Ahhh yes... The good old days of hitting things with sticks in front of a crowd of sweaty people. {sigh} I use the baseline Shure IEMs and got custom earmolds. That was a while ago. My earmolds don't seal quite as well these days. It might be time for an upgrade!
