Amy and I gave a hand to a friend who wanted to requeen a temperamental colony and we took the opportunity to look into her other three colonies including a long hive she made.

I start looking at your videos and I found that you have the best video with the best advice of all the video I watch on bees! I have 3 hives, keeping bees for three years and still learning but getting better. Specially with your Demaree method explanation. I like seeing you looking for the queen and still have problem founding it, it shows that I am not the only one have trouble finding the queen. Even experience beekeeper might have difficulties. All the tricks that you have shown me really work and improve my knowledge. Thank-you.

Hi from central Otago southern New Zealand 👋 great to see you guys working with a little hobbyist, it's so worthwhile and it's great to debunk a few myths that seem to circulate like the old honey excluder argument 😅 I've never had any issues with Queen excluder use, personal opinion but I think they're an invaluable tool and I loathe plastic excluders myself, I personally find they get gunked up much faster than wood frame wire excluders, and I don't like the way they sit, but that's just my personal opinion and as someone else I follow on YouTube from Tennessee in north america says "opinions are like noses in beekeeping, everyone has a different one"😂 taking an electric fence for granted as part of standard apairy equipment to keep bears out 😮 never gets old, and some of those darn things you guys use pack a wallop⚡🌟 that's one of the things I love about YouTube you get to see things in other countries you wouldn't consider in a million years being used as standard equipment because of different environmental challenges. I hope the new Queen takes but yeah it's a roll of the dice when you introduce. Great video 👍 really enjoyed it 👋

"just drawn and chances of finding the queen is low" I was looking for the queen and as I was going I noticed a bunch of increased activity around a mostly undrawn honey super I set on the ground. I went through the whole hive until I was like, "OK, lets follow the bees." I picked up the super and looked for fanning bees, three undrawn frames later I found her!
