'Go To Work, With ONE LEG!'.. Homeless Bournemouth 🇬🇧

Andy Talbot, founder and operator of Bournemouth charity We Are Humans, invited me back to the town to show me more of the amazing work he and his team of loyal volunteers do to help the homeless and hungry. He wanted me to showcase the desperate struggle that many people in Bournemouth face, and he also wished to highlight on camera some of the systemic failures he believes are inhibiting the homeless in their attempts to improve their situation. He introduced me to many of his homeless friends in the community as his organisation offered free meals at their pop-up soup kitchen. I was also delighted to chat to several former homeless people who now volunteer for We Are Humans after they have been supported by the charity and themselves housed. I then met a couple who were in a desperate situation. An amputee husband and his wife who were facing a return to the streets the very next day as their temporary hotel accommodation expired. I decided to help as best I could.

Imagine if everyone who watched this donated just one pound. Ive just donated £20 via bank transfer. This just touched my heart so much. Do you know what, we are all only here once and if you're lucky enough to have a roof over you're head just give a little bit X

Taking benefits from a guy with one leg and leaving him homeless is beyond taking the p*$$

If you're going to give money to charity, don't fall for the corporate lies (ones advertised on mainstream TV).
Local charities, like the one that Andy is running, do more good than you could imagine, and you can actually see the difference it makes.

Many years ago I was homeless in Reading, Berkshire, one day I decided to be homeless somewhere "nice" . I only had enough train fare to get to Bournemouth. I got the first train and got to Bournemouth around 7am. It was such a beautiful morning as I sat on the peir wondering why I hadn't do this earlier. At 9am I went to the job centre and got a interview for a cook in a cafe later that day. I was offered the job and started the same day, I spent two weeks sleeping under the pier. Then I got enough for a flat I found through a work colleague. I had the best summer ever that year. There were nobody to help me back in the day, I now have my own house and have been in work for over 20 years.

The UK messed up when it sold off all the council housing. This was a tragic error.

Access to Water, heating and a house should be a actual human right, available to ALL, not for profit

This guy needs a medal for looking after these lovely people .❤️🙏💯 The government and councils are the lowest form of humanity. Shame on them.

CEO of St Mungo's paid more than £189, 000 according to published accounts while workers can’t afford their rents

These are the kind of people who deserve knighthoods and awards, not celebrities and useless politicians. This man, and his volunteers are making a real difference.

Following Covid I lost everything my home, my business my beloved cats I had to rehome them after 11 years broke my heart - I ended up living in a tent on a cheap campsite and thank goodness I managed to get a job not easy at 65 - I’m still on an uphill struggle but at least I get my state pension now - not enough though to have my own home. Presently staying with a friend as a carer. God bless these wonderful people it warms your heart to see that there are still caring people in this country.

Andrew hit the nail on the head with the business model of certain so called "non profit" organisations.
I am not particularly religious, but to say "God bless you" seems a natural thing to say.

God Bless the poor homeless couple & others in the same situation, it's absolutely shameful that the government literally don't care an iota for them. Thank God for Andy Talbot & all the wonderful volunteers. Also Wendell God Bless you for paying for another 3 nights for Karen & Rich & for taking the time to make & upload this video. My heart goes out to all those without a home, it should never be like this while others have so much more than they need 😪

In the year 2024, the fact that we still have this kind of shit is appalling.

Everyone is at risk of being homeless, nobody is better than anyone else. I always support where I can. Me and my hubby love Dorset and will look at out for these guys when we are down there.

I'm an old British veteran living far away. I might be in that situation if I were back to the UK. It's so sad and wrong. A society that doesn't care. Thank you to We are human

Large charities are a business

No homeless = no business for them

Its in their interest to keep people on the streets

Give your money as close as possible to the recipient

Missing a leg would lead to some mental torcher - a mental health issue. Nobody with a mental health problem can be expected to work / lock down a full time occupation.
