Man! Huge thank you for this video. I've been struggling with my FJ80 for a long time now. It has low acceleration even with just 35s. Now I know I need to install 5.29 gearing.

Hey there, love the fact you did a video on this. The one concern I have is the speedometer gets a speed on the output of the transmission. So with 410s or 529s the speedometer is linked to the tachometer regardless of the differential gear ratio. You can see that in the latter part of your video, when the 410 year set shifts into four and the torque converter locks up. Torque converter lock up can account for about 200 RPM difference. Perhaps you could use the video that you have and edit it so that it actually talked about the GPS speed relative to RPM.

I did the 4:56 over and underdrive sumo transfer case gears and love them.

I’m guessing the transmission was not shifting into overdrive with the 4.10 ratio. Then it was shifting into overdrive with the 5.29 which is why the rpm was not as high….you can almost tell in the video when it shifts. Anyone notice that. When the, OD off, light is on it won’t shift into OD. The light is off in both 4.10 and 5.29 videos. So….the 5.29’s should help shift and keep rpm’s high in 1st and 2nd gear, better start up, and actually shift into OD at high speeds. The Toyota first gear is just to high.😊

Been watching your videos for a couple months now. I like your Toyota collection and group off-road videos. Thanks for posting.

Does Alaska road salt rust out Toyota frames?
I'm currently in central WA with 3 Toyota trucks, but I think we might be moving to the Fairbanks area in the future and I wanted to know if there was a trick to keeping Toyotas rust-free

what is the "power" green light function? What does it do?

Good upgrade. Should maybe save some gas. With lower rpm’s. Good video and information.

Is that a small moose or something at the beginning?

Do you think it would make a acceleration difference uphill with stock wheel size
