I'm sorry but there's no 3-STEP process to sampling like Dilla. it's much more strenuous. One, because he used classic samplers and authentic synthesizers and two, because he studied sampling as an art, itself.

the problem with people criticizing "Learning a Dilla style and technique or Pete rock or RZA etc... is that most of these people don't come from an ACTUAL MUSICIANSHIP BACKGROUND we all have to learn style and technique from somewhere for starters or intermediate learners, coming from a musician background and early  hiphop background as well there is nothing wrong with people learning theyre favorite beat producers style and technique in the beginning... its how you take that and shape it into your own style and technique!... what the fuck!! if PRINCE Jimi Hendrix MILES BOWIE YOU NAME Em ! didn't learn from theyre music heroes they would not existed ever! so STOP CRITICIZING OTHERs FOR LEARNING HOW TO LEARN AND JUS DO YOU!

on a side note, if you are a noob like me, hold down pad mode and change group choke to 1, next exit out of browse and set voice settings on polyphony to 1 which can be found on page 1, this way they all cut each other off like in the vid when you duplicate to another pad

Bro thanks for the video but I have a question ok. 'Nag Champa' produced by Dilla samples the chords from Ro Ayers 'running away' @ 2:50. 'running away' has mad drums and percussion, how the hell did Dilla get those chords so clean on 'Nag Champa
? Its not just filtering or transient matter how he did that?
