I heard my first deliberate jamming yesterday on a pile-up. Took me a few minutes to understand what was happening, but it was correlating with hunters giving calls... not cool. Your patience is inspiring, and was rewarded!

I bought one of those canopies and took it with me the last time I went to see my folks in Gulf Shores. I realized if I tried to use it on the beach, it would most likely end up in Cuba. That beach wind is no joke.

Nice to have the large battery for power and way quieter than than at the beach I was at this weekend. I have been checking out the expert amps, thanks for the look Josh! Just wondering were you near ant military base there? I had the same noise in Hawaii near a naval base.

Haha wow. Now I want that truck. And I’m sure your FCC exposure evaluation for this particular station was well within limits 😂

I liked that video Josh. Something for everyone. And QRO. Even better.

Hate to say it Josh but been there done that the QRM sounds like some of the "Sad Hams" on 17 meters that don't want to play nice your patience is commendable after the SARCTRAC video from Saturday to this one you win the Oscar for the most patient dude in Hamdom.

I enjoyed seeing the battery meter drop when the amp kicked on.

Like the field videos, problems and all.

Over the Horizon Radar was what that was Josh. We used to have the "Russian Woodpecker" clobber 20 meters in the 70s and 80s. Tuff contact, but, nice sticking with it.

That doesn’t sound like deliberate QRM to me, that sounds maybe more like over the horizon radar? Just spitballing. Did you notice a timing to it at all?

That ending was crazy. I do not like high winds like that, especially when im playing radio, smoking a cigar or fixing my hair 😂. Looked like a fun family day, and thats what it's all about anyway, right? And hey, at least you don't have the mosquitos like we do out here! Cheers and 73!

Can't say I've ever seen a box score for canopies before. 🙂

Nice video! Wanted to ask, what kind of app are you using/recommending for smartphone QSO logging when portable?

well it started out a fun day. same band conditions in Boston NY. lot of QRM and in and out. even effecting 70Cm and GMRS a little. this past heatwave set up some inversion now we got wild fire smoke hear. you can use that ford truck to power your home during a black out. make up some cords . that twist loc is same as gen-set . home depot or lowes has them, same ones I have hear. nice amp even does 6 meters. I got tube amp . AL 572 . it would run in that truck but take more from battery. I have run my tube amp camping with IC 7300 on a honda inverter gen. icom on LeFePO4. ran great. My camp cite had a metal water line out of the ground right buy. made a great ground. I used jumper cables. on digital like FT 8 I find back power down and better on amp heating and IC 7300 fan running. it's the duty cycle. I keep my drive way down . 572/B tubes stay cool . nice day at the beach except the wind. 73's

They really need a buy 5 Walmart canopies, get one free program. Glad the expensive stuff lived and you got some QSOs. That is some insane wind
