It’s bc in the anime, it was a huge deal to know all summoning methods. Hence why he knows them all. Except ritual I guess

It’s because of ARC-V Pendulum Synchro XYZ and fusion were the important gimmicks and D/Ds gimmick was that it could use all of them don’t blame me blame Declan he printed them

Funny enough, the only Summoning method D/D/D didn't get is Ritual but Odd-Eyes has two Rituals but no Link. My friend who plays Odd-Eyes wants a Odd-Eyes Link monster so badly while I'm okay with no D/D/D support for now because I'm looking forward to the new Evil HERO support when it comes to the TCG

To answer, yes they did need a link, cuz master rule 4 and 5 ruined everything about Pendulum, which is what pretty much every good D/D main deck monster is (with a few exceptions)
