Great trailer and very versatile but disappointed it's total load is only 150kg and of course the prices at over €7, 000 for the fully motor assisted version. I could buy a second hand Leaf for that! Comparing apples to oranges a little bit here but I have two bike trailers with a loading area of 60 x 80 cm and I have carried over 70kg on both of them using an ordinary manual only bicycle. One cost €131 and the other €105. I always look out for bargains and best prices. I can fit a standard 60 x 80cm Euro Comtainer on both of them. And they are for personal domestic and utilitarian use, not business or commercial so only used once or twice a week on average.
The Carla has a floor space of 65 x 165cm according to the specs I just looked up. So a smidgen wider and twice as long for over €5, 000 for the basic model with no motor.
Yes I know there is no comparison between durability and build quality but in my humble opinion, these are some crazy prices for the privilege of appearing to be a little bit greener. Which I am wholeheartedly in favour of by the way.
It just looks like the actual cost/benefit ratio seems to be a little bit fecked up. And pretty much the same could be said for most of the ebike industry too. A conversation for another time....
