Captain America Brave New World should've been Avengers 5

Captain America: Brave New World" should have been an Avengers film. It feels like a missed opportunity to explore Sam Wilson's Captain America, overshadowed by elements that don't quite fit. The movie tries to balance being a Captain America sequel, a follow-up to a Disney+ series, and a pseudo-sequel to "The Incredible Hulk." This leads to a jumbled narrative. Thunderbolt Ross and Red Hulk would have been perfect Avengers-level threats, and the story had the potential to be a great Avengers film about the team reforming.

Adamantium can be more indestructible by simply being indestructible. When Howard Stark describes vibranium, he says it's "virtually indestructible." However we saw Thanos' uru sword fuck up Cap's shield, so we know that it is not actually indestructible.

Why can’t Sam Wilson be able to fight Red Hulk with vibranium but Tony Stark can fight Thanos with nano tech?

I’m sure Disney could buy back the Hulk rights if they really wanted to.

You're missing the point. It wasn't about bringing in The Avengers and making it an Avenger movie. It's about a man proving that he can do the job without superpowers. It's about using your mind over muscle, and the red hulk was all about muscles and if they just bring in the avengers than in every situation, it should just be an avenger movie.Forget about solo movies then

If you read comics, sometimes villains cross over. The Leader being a villain in a political thriller made sense. Didn't need the Avengers, it was fine as it was.

This movie wasn't as bad as Colton is making it out to be tbh. Not everything that's coming out this year needs to be Avengers level lol. Crazy coming from the guy who loved She Hulk and the Marvels

The problem is you are expecting every movie to be the best movie you ever saw. No studio in the world is capable of making the greatest movie ever made with each release. This movie was a good action movie. And that's it...

Tying up lose ends was the goal so the next movies can move forward with the mcu story, we haven’t seen the last of Red hulk

Respectfully, I'm not sure the "We're smarter than the filmmakers" video after EVERY Marvel product is really the move, but y'all go off.

I'm not really on board either with a lot of concepts in this film..however, why are we to believe Iron Man as a regular human can take on a Hulk with tech, but everyone is saying Sam Wilson shouldn't stand a chance with a Hulk with even more advanced technology?

I hate to go here, trust me, but I can't help but wonder about unconscious implicit bias sometimes. 🤔

In fact, I know he is brilliant, but where did Iron Man learn to fight at all in the MCU?

No it should have been like Civil War which was essentially an Avengers movie.
I agree Falcon and Winter Solder should have been a movie, like imagine if they had that para gliding scene in Cap 4 on big screen.

seeing Colton get pissed and walk off screen twice was surprising guess The MCU really broke him with how the management has been shit recently

No. This shouldn't have been Avengers 5.

They had a thread of a good Cap storyline with Sam's questions about taking the serum. Instead of rehashing the "do I deserve the mantle" angle from the TV show, the angle for this movie could have been that half of the population prefer non-powered heroes versus enhanced individuals. Show that some citizens are tired of having their cities and properties blown up by these industructable heroes. They want heroes who represent them. Ross's push for Sam to bring back the Avengers, would include a team of non-powered humans with adamantium tech. This is his compromise and wouldn't seem like such an abrupt turn from his Sokovia Accords rhetoric. He's fine with giving superheroes some lattitude, as long as it's a team of human avengers instead of superpowered wildcards like Wanda and Hulk.

And while a lot of the citizens would applaud Sam for being a non-powered human fighting for them, there would be the opposite side where some people prefer superheroes and not just guys in high tech suits. Have Sam fail in a situation where people felt Cap or Thor would have succeeded, and the debate dominates the news, "Should Captain America be a regular dude or a super-soldier?" Let that be Sam's journey, ---showing the world that he's worthy of the mantle not by proving that Americans can accept a black man as Captain America, but by proving that a normal human without powers can be America's superhero. The final fight with Ross, would be the completion of that arc. I think that's along the lines of what they were going for, but this script is so chopped up, that the narrative doesn't flow.

Also, Marvel has already shown us that Tony could go toe to toe and even take down the Hulk with his HulkBuster suit. Sam in a vibranium suit putting up a decent fight is not far fecthed at all, especially since Vibranium absorbs energy, stores it and can redirect it when needed. You could argue that every blow Red Hulk landed was making Sam even more capable of standing toe to toe.

And lastly, the depiction of The Leader, while somewhat comic accurate, doesn't work for live-action. They could have left the "bubbly brain" look out and just went with scars or radiation burns on his scalp.

Remember when Deadpool yelled, "Fuck!" when Wolverine stabbed his leg in the minivan? That's what I said when I clicked this video to watch and it wasn't Ryan 😂
