Benin: Jihadist Attack Kills 28 Troops | Firstpost Africa
At least 28 soldiers have been allegedly killed in an attack in the northern part of Benin near the border with insurgency-hit Burkina Faso and Niger. The country’s national guard chief said in a statement that the attack was on one of Benin’s strongest and most militarised positions. Attacks in Benin have been increasing in recent years, with authorities blaming the members of the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda groups based in neighbouring countries, for fuelling violence in the country.
