Garda 2.0 & 1.0 Complete Service Guide

This video shows how to replace axles, bearings and the freebody on the Garda 2.0. The procedure is the same for the original Garda DS as well.

The method we have chosen for this video is the hammer and socket method. There are other methods which may be employed, but require more equipment. This method is quick, easy and provides good control.

If you do not have experience working on hubs like this or replacing bearings, please take the wheel to a local shop. Over-driving a bearing can easily cause damage to the internals and reduce the lifespan of the bearing.

What a brilliant video. Helped a lot but not sure if the title is correct ''Complete Service Guide'' My free hub body seized overnight from the slightest exposure to damp conditions. Thought that it had just packed in but after managing to get some lubricant inside of it it is now fully functioning again. On inspection it looks like the free hub body can be dismantled which i think i need to do to re grease the inside of it and that's only after 12 months usage. It has no play what so ever and sounds good. So Mr Pro-Lite could we see a video of servicing a free hub body. I love my Pro-Lite Wheels and have 3 sets. I highly recommend them but servicing is of the utmost importance and guidance would be most beneficial. Thanks Pro-Lite for making brilliant wheels.

Any idea how to get the end caps off that have either seized onto my axle or are stuck on via the screw lock that was in the grub screws. Managed to get the grub screws out but the axle will not move a micron. I need to change the bearings as after 4 months of riding the front wheel has a bad wobble. If rather not have to replace the wheelset.

Nice clear video! On your website it lists a Garda DS and a Garda A30W, both of which have two cup and cone bearings as well as two sealed units, but this video doesn't mention them? Are the cups and cones both replaceable or are the cones an integrated part of the hub?
