*The actress who played the patient is incredible!!*
*You can literally see the look in her eyes change when she drops her facade*

Imagine feeling all the guilt for all the bullcrap you've pulled throughout your entire life, all at once. Nightmare scenario right there.

I wonder if giving a lifelong psychopath empathy would count as torture.

I feel terrible for the patient. Imagine going through your whole life thinking you're as psychopath, getting used to it and owning it, then you find out you're just sick, and the first thing you do after being cured is drive away the only person in your life because your first emotion is guilt for what you did to him....

The patient is played by Beau Garrett. She's been really good in the few things I've seen her in, I am surprised she doesn't get more work. She killed it in this ep.

Dated a covert narcissist, very similar. The way she could lie with a smile on her face and pretend to be a loving caring person was astonishing

My sister is a clinical psychopath. I've learned this the hard way when as a kid she went through a lot of violent outbursts and I was often the target of those moments. Then there were the straight sociopathy episodes where she casually decided that I should be dead and that was fine. Watching her act out the façade dropping was chilling because I've seen it myself.

I've dealt with psychopaths. Trust me, they're not generally that calm when called out on it

"Told you he was rich, she's not that weird". 😆 Love House.

The secondary story in this ep is only meh but the psychopath one crushes. Olivia Wilde and the guest actress both do superb work and the exploration of psychopathy and its "etiology" is totally compelling and thought-provoking.

Even House was creeped out by the change. It was like someone flipped a switch in her, and she dropped the act in the blink of an eye.

In real life, if you are a medical mystery, the doctors do not try to solve it.

I remember watching an interview with a male psychopath he said at first it caused him problems building relationships until he learned how to manipulate people, without empathy or compassion he could use their fears and insecurities against them. Apparently he is trying to change and he now has a girlfriend and a social circle who know what he is...

This is one of the scariest episodes in this show. The way she look when she says "What do you want to know", God it always scares me. I couldn't talk to her

This is a common misconception. You don't have to "feel" anything to make ethical choices. Being a psychopath and sociopath is much more nuanced

It would be interesting to see a case like this. With psychopathy as a symptom for what I am guessing is 15 years maybe more. To restore her ability to feel empathy and emotion would be similar to restoring the sight to a blind person once they are adults...its got to be traumatic and confusing.

I was highly aggressive and manipulative my first 22-23 years of life. What she just
It might take a few years to set in, but growing a conscience will fracture your spirit to the core.
Honestly? This girl would likely be suicidal with a poor chance of learning to cope with herself before she can't take it anymore.
It's her sisters turn to keep her now..she's going to need it.

The title of the episode is "Remorse". That's what she finally felt.

That has to be terrible. To suddenly have empathy. To begin feeling bad for your past behavior

She was by far my favorite patient on the show. She did such a good job.
