I'm currently planning ahead for:
Graduation stuff (I have a senior! 😢)
Car Registration
Car Maintenance
Furniture and Bed Set
I used to just swipe a Credit Card when I wanted new furniture or anything really. Looking back, it's crazy how much money I spent on CCs that wasn't necessary and I lived beyond my means. Slowly changing my mentality!

I literally am watching this video and thinking to myself that I need to add two more envelopes to my budget. The first will be saving up for my Grandchildren’s Weddings (so I can give them a nice gift) and an Aesthetic Dollar envelope, so that I can buy some of your amazing products!

What a treat to have 2 videos in a day!! Just wanted to let you know how much you're inspiring me to get out of debt right now. Made a deal with myself, that when that day comes, I will treat myself with buying your beautiful binders and start saving towards sinking funds. Right now the priority for all the money is towards building a "rainy day fund" and towards the debt <3 All the best, have a blessed day.

A lot of people forget when planning on saving for a month ahead fund that month ahead is not only just their bills. It’s also your variable expenses (gas, groceries, household items, and whatever variable expenses you absolutely need).

My friend’s child just started school and I was helping them create a budget for schools expense. Most people think of just back to school/school supplies. But there are also things like school lunches, school outings, school festivities (teacher gifts, v-day and Christmas goodie bags and food for class parties), school pictures, book fair, birthday parties because normally younger grades tend to invite every classmate to their birthday party.

Another one we forget about is fundraisers. If you have kids or organizations around you that have fundraisers you want to participate in - fundraiser may be a category to include. Girl Scout cookies and other fundraiser items aren’t getting any cheaper either.

Saving for furniture, graduation, new camping equipment, and have envelopes for each of the different sports my kids are in. Also save for things in summer like camps and swimming lessons. We have a lot of kids so it takes time to save.

Me and my husband are both DONE with having debt. We've (literally) cut credit cards out of our life because we aren't good at managing them. We actually look forward to our budgeting nights and talking about our financial future motivates us even more!

Hi Emily, thank you for being such an inspiration to me on my financial journey. Please don’t feel pressured but I am praying you will have another restock of the handmade products. I got one out of the three items I wanted. I appreciate you working so hard to make this restock happen. And again please don’t feel pressured.

Loved seeing 2 videos today! Loved the microwave story, he was showing you how much he appreciates/loves you. I remember putting a plastic gallon of ice cream in the oven to make my mom an ice cream cake for Mothers day(yep thats how I thought they made ice cream cakes).

I have started to think I need to plan ahead because that’s the key to not fall back in debt 💸 great video like always!💜

We always forget about our car registrations. Especially when you have three to pay within two months, they sneak up on us and we panic. So that is an envelope I have now.🖤

Car tags/registration is one we started doing last year and we were prepared when it came time to renew one of our vehicles!

Pretty binders! Hmm, maybe call it the Simply Basics Collection? Also have you thought about bringing a rich dark smoky purple to the mix? I must admit I love amethyst and particularly like the darker purples in general, but it seems to be a rare find in binders. I wonder why no one plans for Memorial Day or Labor Day? Lots of people get a 3 day weekend and plan all sorts of stuff.

I think along with not planning ahead and making a budget it’s so important to be realistic about your spending!
I always did the see-saw thing where I made the budget to pay off debt aggressively but then that birthday would happen or a concert would come and I’d want food at the stadium. I told myself I’d be fine without but then I spent the money (on credit) anyway!
Watching you have all these categories really helped me reframe my thinking. It’s fine if I’m making the choice to pay off less in debt as long as I’m not adding more to it consistently - I started last year in March and I’ve already paid off close to $12k in credit card debt and haven’t added more and built my savings up as well. I’m fully employed but my husband is self employed so we keep a bit more of a buffer in our emergency fund because of that and pay off debt a little slower but soon the scales will tip to aggressive debt payoff.
Some things that snuck up on me this last year:
School pictures, field trip money, money for snacks at camp (😂), food and drinks at concerts, spending a little extra on certain holidays (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc) because the gift was worth it (baseball tickets, concert tickets etc - experiences over things is so important to us)

Thank you for blessing us 🙏. I'm so inspired with your videos, I've also made those mistakes in my budgeting, but I also believe budgeting is a learning journey, give yourself grace because look where you're today.
