If I remember flew her dragon to the top and was showing her dragon to the then ruling Arryns children, when the lady of the house finally climbed the stairs to their location. The heir to the vale asked her for a ride on her dragon and Visenya granted it knowing she was showing the heir friendship and the heirs parents they were not able to hide from

Impossible, unless you have dragons 😎

I like how the difficulty the castle is mentioned as well. If I remember right certain times of the year, the castle literally gets too cold because of the high mountain winds. I can't remember if they move for that amount of time, then they come back at.

And that's after you've already been forced to take the Bloody Gate...

It only takes 10 good men in climbing spikes, Bron...

My favorite house and the best castle for me, no one can beat the bloody gate

Not impossible. Mid difficulty actually. Step by step:

1. Care nothing for the Eyrie itself, it's a bad seat so really, the point is to keep the Arryns in there.

2. Have about 50, 000 men at your command.

3. Attack from the sea through Ironoaks so as to avoid the Bloody Gate.

4. Besiege with 10, 000 men and demolish the stone bridge to the Eyrie if it exists in this rendition.

5. Position ballistas and catapults around the important parts of the mountain to target those "narrow pathways".

6. Send the bulk of your army (50, 000 minus 10, 000) to fight any Vale Lords that aren't on your side (the actual difficult part).

7. Rule over the Vale while the Arryns starve in their fortress.

Addendum:- If they decide to "sally forth", the same rules what apply to you apply to them, they would have to do so very slowly and in single file.

8. Watch the Arryns toss themselves from the moon door to escape the starvation.

That's how you take the Vale, and if you actually want that terrible seat, the Eyrie too. Worst GH seat in Westeros 🤷‍♂️

Visenya: "and I took that personally"

Also, the only road that leads to a path is guarded by 3 Castle like gates. The bloody gate got its name for a reason and each gate is essentially a town and Castle by itself

Impossible, until Visenya riding the dragon Vhagar showed up. The regent of the Vale, Shiera Arryn. found her little son Ronnel beside Visenya. Visenya showed the Shiera that she came in peace. The little boy wanted to ride the dragon, so with his mother's permission, Visenya took him on a ride on Vhagar, in exchange of a bloodless surrender. Metaphorically, Ronnel landed as a lord, also proving that Visenya could be merciless, she also had honor.

Until you realize that place is impossible to reinforce and you'd have to bring up the supplies.

How easy would it be to destroy the Eyrie with primitive gunpowder rockets and cannons?

As they say in real estate, "Location, Location, Location".

As tough the Eyrie would be to attack as tough it would be to supply. It doesnt take a lot of troops to completely cut of the supply lines to that castle and there is not exactly any room or the right climate to grow anything there. So yeah, probably a 3 month siege should be enough to starve them.

I feel like you could just starve them out. I don’t even think they have a steady amount of water to support the castle. Yeah they can use snowmelt, but I think the combined strain of not being able to grow your own food and constantly having to melt snow to turn it into water would be enough. And not to even mention the wood they would need to melt the snow and to just not get frostbite from the cold.

Okay. I’ll just lay siege to the castle. And by lay siege I mean use catapults to barrage the defenders from afar and just blockade the castle from supplies. Hard to get in also means hard to get out.

The thing I hate about the Eyrie though is that its an amazing fortress and a godawful king's residence. Kings need to rule and in order to rule they need to be accessible. Its going to be difficult to rule if 10% of your visitors plummet to their deaths just trying to see the king and then another 10% die on the journey back down.

Its pretty shitty that during winter the castle is basically uninhabitable
