Thanks for the shout out lmao but my take still hasn't changed

People just hate change. This is just as positive of a rule change as there could possibly be.

No onsides except for 4th quarter is one of the worst rules ive ever heard.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been thinking this all offseason

I’m sure we’re all going to get used to the new rules eventually, by mid season i think we’ll all be thankful these rules were added.

As someone who lives in Canada and therefore has been a big CFL fan my entire life, this is massive for the NFL. In CFL, every single kick is returned unless it goes into the end zone, and this is a step in the right direction for the NFL. There are few plays more exciting than a big kick return

there are two things people hate; the way things are, and change.

i loved this change when it happened, i love it now
also, i thought why not just make it so if you fair catch before the 25 it won’t go to the 25
this is better

I am the #1 Devin Hester and Cordarelle Patterson fan. Could not be more excited for this change

I agree with that but theres been no returns that get past 35 yards

But I don’t like that surprise onside kicks don’t exist anymore

I think it sucks because it’s still dangerous, the guys blocking are being hit the second they turn around, and they’re gonna be getting hit at around the same speed anyway

The new onside kick rules are absolutely terrible. They take out one of the most exciting aspects of the game and make the game more boring, more stagnant, less surprising, more predictable, and just worse of a thing to watch

The Devin Hester rule is why kickoffs haven’t been as good. They didn’t need to change the entire kickoff. They shouldn’t have made that stupid rule to move the kickoff up. The NFL treats people like they’re stupid. They aren’t mentioning this.

They moved the kickoff years ago as Hester was lighting up the league. The reason they made this new 2024 kickoff change is for safety reasons. It’s the same reason why the hip drop is gone and the current QB Roughing the Passer rules. Unfortunately, it’s football and injuries will always happen. They might as well get rid of the kickoff and start back at the OG 20.

People only don’t like it cause they aren’t used to it, by the end of the season people will like the new rule

I like it tbh. it's gonna have to take time for people to get used to it because they simply don't like getting out of their comfort zone or "nostalgia" lol. for the most part, it has good potential and like you said, not only will we see A LOT more returns (which adds excitement), but there's also less injury risk.

People like Hester, Crobbs, Patterson and Jacoby would’ve feasted with this rule change. They were returning kicks from 9 yards in the endzone and taking it to the house players now just scared.

No more ambush onsides is a bad change, but overall? This is a positive. Imagine what will happen when guys like McVay, Shanahan, and McDaniel cook up some complicated blocking scheme to part the Red Sea for a TD
