It is probably really healing for both you and your mom to have you much closer. I just started going to therapy this year and I never realized how growing up so emotionally distant from my mom (due to her mental illness) affected me. Im so happy you are close to your mom now and enjoying the little moments. They add up. My mom passed away 3 days after i turned 4 in a car accident i was also in. Dad was never great and never around so i relate. It makes me so happy to see you happy and living it up. Im living vicariously through you especially with the moments with your mom.
