➤ Test Situation:
All cameras were mounted with GoPro's Jaws Clamp (as seen at the end) so they experience the exact same vibrations & concussions.
I did two rides, during the first ride EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) was switched on YI 4K+ Action Camera was switched on. GoPro Hero5 black and YI 4K don't offer that feature in 4K (only up to 2.7K).
Color Profiles were set to Auto (ProTune / YI Flat off) so I don't accidentally set one camera better than the other.
Audio was set to auto, except when I tested the new "Wind" setting on YI 4K+. I did several test and placed the cameras inside and outside the underwater case; except GoPro Hero5 black which is waterproof without a case.

The EIS on the Yi 4K+ looks really great!

EIS really worked on the yi 4K plus! good review, this helped me a lot, I returned my hero 5 because of freezing and overheat issue.

- Yi has more detail in the shadows at 2:57
- bitrate is not high enough, when there is a lot of motion and many textures, the image on all cameras is pretty pixelated

I've just purchased a Yi 4K+ action camera and your video is most helpful in seeing the difference in the Image Stabilization and quality of sound. Thanks and well done a big thumbs up.

Sjcam sj8 pro VS yi 4k+ VS yi 4k
Which is the best for video+audio quality?
*Sorry for bad grammar🙏

GP5 seems to be sharper, looking at the trees on the side. I would not consider the waterproofing to be as effective as a separate case when snorkeling / diving some meters below the surface. One grain of sand would cause a salt water leak inside the camera. A small leak inside a waterproof housing may not end inside the camera, and anti fog inserts may absorb the water. But great to have waterproofing for rainy days, snow etc.

That was a worthwhile comparison, thanks for doing it. I'm kind of sold on the YI 4K+ but I need an analog (PAL) video out. Is there such a cable, ideally a right angle cable so it doesn't stick out too much, that does this?

Hello, great video. Can you tell me which settings are you recommending on yi 4k+ for lowlight? My lowlight videos are grainy. What settings are you using and why (specially metering mode, shutter speed, wb, iso, color) Thank you!

hi, can you upload the raw video file of the gopro to some platform? Like mega.co? I want to see if it lags in my video edito like my yi 4k plus videos do. Some 4k 60 fps on highest bitrate would be great. My yi 4k plus videos are totaly useless. I cant edit them because they lag so much in my video editors. Sony vegas, Adobe premiere the freeware editing software called "shotcut" can playback it smoothly. I have an i7 4790, 3, 6 ghz, 16gb ram, gtx 980 nvidia graphics card.

would be great if you could give me some gopro footge.

Im seconds away from selling my yi actioncam because i cant edit the videos

Hero 5 has better image quality, stability, and less voice noise . Yi 4k+ unnatural redish color, better image details, better battery life, bad sound . If your buying used camera go with hero 5, surprisingly cheaper price on ebay then yi. I got one hero 5 for $100, i saw the yi 4k+ they go for $170

Go pro has the best sound stabilization, the image quality was subtle amongst all of them, but by far the go pro was best overall . Thank you. Now I know which to purchase

Quick disclaimer, the Yi4k also has the "wind" mode, released in the last firmware versions. Doesn't do miracles but helps a bit!
Too bad that Xiaomi didn't solve the issue of bad audio in their latest Yi4k+. That's not the way to go if you want to beat GoPro.
I have my Yi4k and for the price (180€) it was great, besides audio not much to complain!

i cant ardestand why you are not using the 60fps 4k capability that is the most biggest weapon on yi 4k+.
