$42.99 are you out of your mind? Auctionkings Buying a Morgan Silver Dollar on Ebay experience

I won an auction on Ebay from the seller Auctionkings 7/19/22 and received my coin today 7/23/22. This is my honest review of my experience. The coin is an 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar that was described as "1881 S Morgan Dollar! SEMI Proof Like! Absolute Stunner! Amazing Piece" on the title.
Sorry about my cracking mic

Don’t leave bad feedback or message them with complaints, I did and they blocked me and wouldn’t except my return, auctionkings are horrible sellers

The coin is a common date. Reverse always looks better than the obverse. The coin has been dipped and whizzed. So you get what you pay for. The coin is worth 30 bucks since it has been cleaned so it's no bargin. They mosly likely have a bunch laying around that they paid 20 bucks for years ago. They have me blocked and I have them blocked on ebay. I think they suck and are not honest.

Last comment - if you’ve ever tried to take pictures of coins you would know it’s very easy to make a coin look a bunch of different ways depending on the angle and lighting. A very subtle adjustment tilting the coin 5° can make the coin look amazing and perfect

The difference between me and a majority of these new sellers is I look for what’s bad and I highlight what is bad I try to tell people right up front these are the problems I do not accentuate the positives as much as what’s bad (haze, spotting, rim hits, etc.).
I almost never sell a raw coin as “Gem BU”, only if I’m super confident the coin will grade better than 65 at PCGS and I send them hundreds of coins a year so if I think it will grade better than 65 chances are I’ll submit it anyway unless it’s too common like a 1940s or 1950s common date Washington quarter etc .
I saw a guy selling a coin as Gem AU last night. It’s gotten ridiculous

Does it hurt the amount of money my coins ultimately sell for? Yes - sometimes. But in other ways it gains customers
Plus savvy and more experienced coin buyers know what they’re looking for anyways

I'm surprised he didn't go further into verifying whether is legit, or a fake!?

Considering it's an AuctionKings coin, you didn't do too bad. This video is 2 years old and AuctionKings has gotten a lot worse. I got into stacking early 2023 and have seen a few horror stories featuring their photoshopped coins.

"This flip is really jacked" ... "This thing's been old-school wired pretty hard-core in the field." Love it.

You have a great sense of humor! And you have a new subscriber in coin solidarity.

They sent me a Mercury that was not a GEM and Full Bands advertised. I gave them Neutral feedback and they immediately responded to offer me refund or compensate me. Tried to bully me to change my feedback. I told them I don’t want anything from them just want to provide other buyers of my experience. Then they went silent

Dang, thanks for sharing. Gives me a perspective on what to do on eBay being new to selling coins.

I just recently enjoyed the AuctionKings experience, just as so many others have stated, they are a piece of work

That flip (sleeve) it came in looks like it has been used 784 times before.

If the coins were as good as they look on the site, they would get them graded themselves. The buyers should know this right away.

Enjoyed your review. They are known for editing photos. Coin looks cleaned out of its mind haha. Brand new flips are cheap. Eye opening video.

Auctionkings use to use the Tolliver James rare coins. They hide behind their 100% satisfaction free returns guarantee banking that most won’t go through the trouble. “Best coin EVER!” 30” Black n White mirrors on a Au slider. They are a absolute joke Imo
I would value that cleaned common date slider at I don’t know $30-$35 so they still banged you for $10

I bet you did get the right coin, it's all in the photo magic. I've bought several coins from them, and have done very well. I go in knowing that the quality is never the same as the picture, but I'd be hard pressed to do better for same price at a LCS. Definitely would never pay over $45 for there stuff, but I've managed to pick up some nice washington quarters, and couple Morgan's. Also I did return a coin with no Hassel and I'm not blocked. I didn't leave negative feedback, but they paid return shipping. They are definitely sketchy with photos, but so far everything was real.

I doubt AuctionKings paid more than $30-$32 for that worked over A.U. Morgan Dollar. I can't imagine a fairly knowledgable collector wanting to buy it from you for more than you paid for it.

That's why they are KINGS, because they have so many pheasants to support them. 👑
