Local cancer expert breaks down Princess Kate's diagnosis

After Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis many were curious about what type of cancer the Princess of Wales has. However, Kensington Palace made it clear it would not share a specific diagnosis. Dr. Husain Abbas, a board certified surgeon who specializes in gastrointestinal diseases and cancers, joined us on The Morning Show to explain more.

As an MD myself, I am outraged by the press consulting with oncologists, "gravely" debating what Princess Catherine's diagnosis could mean: another unbearable bullying, lack of respect and the beginning of a new spree of feeding frenzy by irresponsible, despicable so called journalists.
I am deeply disappointed by the colleagues, not in any way privy to the Princess's case, agreeing for a fee to demean themselves in front of the cameras, forgetting our most central duty as doctors: DO NO HARM!

As someone that has gone through years of scary situations relating biopsies, surgeries, testing, etc., the one word that would drive me nuts and would make me feel that my condition was minimized, was the word PREVENTATIVE. The reporter could not have described this better! I kept telling asking the doctor, how can this be 1:13 preventative when the cells are telling you otherwise, when they are not normal cells anymore? Even if the surgery was successful and thank God in many cases it is, not all the cells are removed, meaning you need treatment because NO ONE, not the best doctor, can tell you if the cancer cells were removed completely. And don’t get me started with the term pre-cancer. That is so hurtful when your fear and your pain is still there no matter what stage it is.

I was younger than Kate when I was diagnosed with cancer. That was 35 years ago, and I had young children, I can identify with her. The chemo was hell. While I am grateful, I've had a normal life since then, I find it shocking given the BILLIONS of dollars or research supposedly done, there has been NO progress in treatment.
The "adjuvant therapy" drugs have new names, but the same side effects.

Just protocol of stages and options available at at each stage

Now I'm getting confused because this doctor makes it sound like the mass didn't look like cancer but they found that it was? And other doctors seem to be saying that apart from this tumor, they by the way found some (other?) cancer, which would indicate it was in early stages. But that doesn't sound the same as what this doctor said here? Is it really in early stages, or is this tumor that was found cancerous, so not so early?
