MSI MEG X670e ACE - Mystic Light issue?

During a new build, discovered that one of the onboard rgb lights is flashing badly. It's strange because this light (which i think is called PCH Cover RGB) works fine using Mystic Light if the pattern does not involve fading - so rainbow pattern is fine but not colour cycle/marquee etc, where the lights fade on/off = rapid blinking.

I then realised that issue only happens if I use "ALL SYNC" option in Mystic Light. If I use the MB sync only (unlink my ram) then the same RGB light is fine and fades perfectly with colour cycle pattern. Additionally also unistalled everything and tried OpenRGB patterns which managed to sync all components fine with no issues.

Fresh Win11, clean MSI soft/firmware uninstall/reinstall done and everything on latest versions etc.
