I've been looking for a specific tutorial with an HDD that has a foil sticker since most of the tutorials don't have it. I really want to upgrade to an SSD but the foil is keeping me from it lol. Glad to know that it's not required. Thank you, this is very helpful.

Hi there, im pretty new to this, ive replaced hard drives in the past but I honestly did not know there was a difference between the SSD and the SATA hard drive. I have a few (possibly dumb) questions :

1) I believe the HD it came with is 500G, which i thought would be enough to start gaming, but apparently not (GTA V was 126 G alone xD ) . I clearly need more storage; do I need to replace BOTH the SSD and the SATA? I hope im using the correct terminology. I've been trying to find a clear explanation on what the main difference is between the two, but I am willing to replace both if necessary, I just want to know why it has to or doesnt have to be done that way.

2) you mentioned installing the boot drive to the SSD ; how did you do that? I bought the laptop brand new so im pretty sure I can re-download it if neccessary (Windows 10 or 11) but i dont have my old receipt; i assume i need my product key again.
Or do i have to put an ISO file on a USB stick like i used to ???

3) i apologize if im using the incorrect terminology... but the SSD is the long flat one, correct? as i said i have no experience with that, i do remembner replacing SATA hardd rives on old laptops
