I like how the guy goes to check the tailpipe and then thinks better of it.

I am just so glad he did become a cop. A world without Columbo would be a terrible place to live in. The greatest show ever made.

I respect Arthur Kennicutt's composure throughout this entire episode - First he loses his wife and later he found out that she actually cheated on him with her golf instructor . And that the detective he hired to investigate his wife lied to him.

Peter Falk was so engrossing and his delivery is pitch perfect for film. The man is a Legend, RIP Peter Falk

Oliver Nelson was a hell of a musician and composer. His score perfectly matches this series and the times. A true classic

My wonderful grandson gave me the entire set of Columbo. He died April 7, 2021. Sometimes it's difficult to watch Columbo without wishing he was here watching Columbo with me physically. 😔🌻(🐊"later 'Gater)

The coolest end to a Columbo episode. Sums up his character perfectly and shows off Gil Melle’s marvellous theme

The music was just perfect for this scene.

Absolutely love this little twist, the music kicking in as he tells the story, Arthur Kennicut ALMOST looking for the potato but figuring it's better in the long run if he doesn't confirm or deny it either, and the camera being *just* out of the way for the audience to tell for certain. While I absolutely believe Columbo stuck that potato in personally, that little air of mystery adds so much more to it, especially after finding out the contact lens in the trunk was sheer coincidence.
