No review really goes over the most important thing to consider when purchasing an iPad Air vs an iPad Mini. If you are new to the iPad scene, you need to consider this. An iPad will take over 50-99% of tasks you do, so you will be using your laptop or smart phone less. There is no question. The thing to consider with these two, do I want to use my laptop less (get iPad Air) or do I want to use my smart phone less (get iPad Mini). This will help you dramatically in picking an iPad. :) Good luck!

The intriguing ingenuity lies in the fact that Apples made both tablets equally powerful which means users get the same experience from both tablets regardless of size.
Smaller in size doesn't necessarily impose weak and puny in performance.

Although all the numbers are not in, I am certain to take away the mini, with the chance for the Air in the wings. I ordered the ipad mini with retina display :) I ordered it before this comparison video and I was looking at the same specs in comparing! The ipad mini is the way to go as it is more portable, same as the air (but smaller) AND 100$ cheaper! This is also gonna be my first ipad :) Great Video :)

I bought the ipad mini retina two days ago. I have the ipad 4th generation but I've been wanting the mini for a long time now!! Finally got it because of the retina display.

I got the ipad mini retina and Im loving it. No complaints about the display at all. I had the ipad 2 for the last couple years, but the smaller size of the mini makes it very practical. That was the big factor in deciding between the mini and the air. So far, Im very happy with my decision.

I've got both the mini retina and Air right now, but I'm keeping the Air. I can tell a significant difference in the screen colors and saturation of the Air over the mini retina. Nice deep blacks and very rich color tones. A pleasure to look at every day. Plus for being 2" bigger in screen size it barely feels heavier. The Air is just outstanding. And it's rocket fast.

I hate it when people describe the mini retina's screen as "washed out". The screen is perfect! In fact, the mini retina has a screen with NORMAL colour saturation. The air just adds that extra visual punch for those who want the colours to "pop off the screen". The mini retina is not a disappointment in any way.

So just recently I've managed to compare the screens of bothe of these tablets on a local retail store and I must it is quite significant. Before I took glimpse at the Air's display, the Mini retina looks nice, sharp and colours pop. However, once I saw the Air, the mini's diplay seemed more bland and less saturated, and it is really hard to unsee. Still a good deal though, and I'm still on the fence as which to buy..

I just preordered the ipad mini retina 4G version it'll be my first ipad, can't wait, plus getting the PS4 next week so I'll have a tablet to play commander mode in Battlefield 4, happy days

The iPad mini and air are very similar. That's mean it doesn't matter if u buy the air or the mini 2 unlike the difference between the iPad 4 and the mini 1

In an era in which TVs and phones continue to get larger, it seems that everyone wants their media and entertainment to be a on bigger, easier to see screen.

That said, why are people interested in the iPad Mini? In reality, its no more portable than a larger tablet because its too big to fit in a pocket. So you have to carry it, or put it in a bag. If that's the case, then why wouldn't anyone prefer the Air, giving you essentially the same "portability", only a much bigger screen to watch all of your content?
