We applaud the change. Allowing any law to be overturned over reasonableness is crazy.
Who says what is reasonable ?? Thats not a law system its chaos.
If majority of people want to overturn a law, let them (the people) make an issue and debate in Knesset and vote to repeal or change or ratify the specific law.

Judges are for applying / explaining/ interpreting law not MAKING law.
God made the law and gave Israel Judges to help them understand and carry out His Law, not to decide if it is a reasonable law. Gezzz a grade school kid could see that deciding laws on reasonableness is garbage.
May our Heavenly Father guide and protect Israel in all that they do. May foreign interference cease and Gods Will be done.

Also the VOTERS are more than capable of deciding what is or isnt reasonable, and can vote accordingly, instead of leaving it up to 15 peoplewho were appointed for life, to decide for everyone.

The passage is a GOOD thing, because the judiciary should not have the ability to rule by fiat. The Knesset is the rule making body and a few people in the juduciary should not have arbitrary power to decide "reasonableness."

Judiciary has in the past used their power to override parliament decisions. Would be interesting to give examples of parliamentary decisions they have overruled on being unreasonable. Best to let people see if they have overstepped their powers.

Kudos for showing that there are two sides to this story.

Separation of power must be maintained to maintain a democracy.
In the November 1932 German federal election, a party was also voted in democratically. That does not mean that the democratically elected party should have absolute power. Judges should not be controlled by the ruling party, as they were in Germany in 1932. That leads to a situation where the elected party has absolute power without checks.

It seems that if Israel’s Supreme Court justices are anything like ours in the USA, meaning that they’re political activists, then it would be foolish to give them Vito power over any law they deem “unreasonable”. That’s the most subjective legal standard I think I’ve ever heard.

"reasonable" seems like a dumb standard, and reasonable is very different than "constitutional". I can see how the court could and would abuse a rule that gives them full discretion instead of upholding legislative decisions.

Dear IDF .. watching the "controversy " over your new paper law, reminded me of a Book, " The Guns of August " ... not withstanding debatable details, what most get wrong is the time relationship of events in far off lands to their fate ... A single line in a book can represent weeks of back ground detail of extreme social political structural collapse with consequences to others .. I am sure you agree to be a master of war, not only be a master of all technology, but a master of time

will of the people ? Or the will of God ? You can choose on one . The will of the people is not the will of God when your destiny is to accept the false Messiah .
