💲 NEED FINANCIAL ADVICE? 💲
1) Google "fee-only financial adviser" or visit www.NAPFA.org (largest association of fee-only financial advisers). NOT an affiliate link
2) The first question to ask any financial adviser is, "Are you a fiduciary to me 100% of the time". Get the answer in writing
3) Please note that some people call themselves "fee-based". This is NOT the same as fee-only. Fee-only advisers have committed to being fiduciary to you 100% of the time.
4) Personally, I would only hire an adviser who is a fiduciary to me 100% of the time. This is not a suggestion on what you should do. Just sharing my personal preference.

⚠️ Azul's "Scammer" Warning ➡ PLEASE READ! ⚠️
Be careful of scammers. In the comments section, I will NEVER ask you to contact me, offer any investment products, recommend a stock broker, or anything similar. Some scam bot commenters 'ask' for investment help, and later, other comment bots reply with "how great X idea/investment/person is" in the replies. These are scam threads. Do not fall for them.

🚨 Azul's VIDEOS ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE (Disclaimer) 🚨

The decisions on how to invest, when to retire, and other financial planning topics are some of the most important financial decisions you will make in your life. I urge you to seek professional financial advice as you make this decision. Ideally, from a financial adviser, AND a CPA AND an attorney. Having the perspective of all three professions will help you make the right decision for you and your family.

This information is being presented without consideration of the investment objectives, risk tolerance, or financial circumstances of any specific investor and may NOT be suitable for all investors.

This information is NOT intended to, and should NOT, form a primary basis for any investment decision that you may make. Always consult your own legal, tax, and/or investment advisor before making any investment/tax/estate/financial planning considerations or decisions.

Spoiler Alert: There are no "get rich" programs. Rather, just basic blocking & tackling and putting in time and care. Do your homework, choose wisely and (IMHO) work with experienced professionals who are fiduciary to you 100% of the time.

My outlook on money changed when I realized that is better to invest on or before retirement, some people are just putting £15k or £20k With the current market movement at the end of the year they are making millions.

This is my fifth year after retirement. I’e been following the 4% rule thing I saw on a youTube channel, but this isn’t really how hard I expected things to be. After I cashed out a lump sum, I still have about $760k left, but at this rate, and with how the market is (we were putting money away in an index fund), I’m starting to get really worried.

My retirement account has gone down by 13.7% in the past year due to rebalancing I did out of fear uncertainty and doubt. What are best alternatives to take in other to secure a financially free retirement and achieve ultimate peace? I don’t want to fail after 42 years of working hard.

I am currently in my 50s and This is no time to taper retirement savings. I want to max out my retirement contributions and I also have another $380k in a savings account that i want to invest in a non-retirement account. Where should I invest it now?

Azul, you are a work-a-holic pumping out videos every 2-4 hours. Take a break, spend time with your family, go for a walk. Don't waste the youth of your senior years.

Most Americans find it hard to retire comfortably amid economy downtrend. Some have close to nothing going into retirement, my question is, will you pay off mortgage as a near-retiree, or spread money for cashflow, to afford lifestyle after retirement?

In my opinion to have a great retirement you need to make an effort to work for a company or government agency that offers a defined benefit pension. You should make that effort not later than your twenties or early 30s so you can work a minimum of 30 years. During that time you should invest at least 15% of your pretax income in either an IRA or something like the thrift savings plan to complement your defined benefit pension.

When you withdraw 4%, do you account for taxes?

Any chance you could make a positive video about retirement?

Thanks for sharing. Retired to just be ok. Coming up on 3 years retired and it's a bit scary trying to not pinch into savings which we knew would be marginal for a long haul if we or one of us get that opportunity. Have lost 3 friends that retired at earliest age 62 already in this time. I'm we are ok at being ok. Try to enjoy living.

My husband retired in 2018, and I kept working as a teacher because 1) I loved being a teacher and I loved where I worked, 2) my school district provided very nice health insurance and 3) the school year was 184 days long, leaving me plenty of time to travel. I retired at age 67 in 2023. Since then, my husband and I have driven around Great Britain, traveled to the wine country of California, traveled to Rome, Italy, and cruised the Mediterranean, done a Viking River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland, and cruised the Caribbean. I volunteer every week at an animal shelter, and come to the school where I taught to tutor a student learn English and help out in a kindergarten class.
A wonderful retirement comes from beginning early to plan and invest, live below your income ( when my husband was working we purposely put his paycheck in a savings account and we used my paycheck to pay the bills), paid off our mortgage so we own our house outright, never kept credit card debt (paying off the balance each month), and making regular charitable donations. I have been helping some of the teachers and staff at my school to set up 403b accounts and setting up budgets so they have wonderful retirements as well.😊

Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen.
It's so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

To me budgeting for retirement is not a problem, the problem is not having enough money to budget with😅. Everything is expensive. Most will live in fear even with millions

Happy fruitful year, I'm beyond excited! In just one week I'll be debt-free, having paid off my entire $285, 000 debt and begun a new chapter of financial freedom.

Wouldn't it be great if travelling first class or even business class was only a couple hundred dollars extra and not the thousand(s) extra for all international trips, even US origination airport to toronto and vancouver runs. Likewise with hotels and the cost to go up from a basic hotel that requires driving to get to the places of interest and the hotel that is located within walking distance or only a short drive from them.
