Watch stuff and learn and chill hi whatsup ⚔️👋🧐

Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through YouTube videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!

0:30 Chruchill though the possibility to strike before an Iron Curtain descends over Europe was a possibility. Don't think he meant the use of Nukes though.

7:00 Morgenthau, the man who saw the holocaust, the holodomor, and the cultural revolution and said "I can do worse".
They don't say it here but the Morgenthay pan was abandioned a full year before the end of the war, because as the alied miltiary high command in Europe put it "fear of the Morgenthau plan made very german battallion fight like ten, you can't tell peope, you intend to starve 90% of their population to death then expect them to not fight to the last man"

Has anyone else noticed that on many channels there’s a comment appearing that’s the same comment which has nothing to do with the content? It always says numbers 10 and 1 then goes on about number four brunette? It’s very strange

Lookup the Morganthau plan, it was nuts. I think AlternativeHistoryHub did a video on it.

The division by FDR/Truman vs Stalin (and mostly ignoring Churchill) was wise. Churchill had lost the plot by late 1944 ;-( Marshall Plan, NATO, unification of W Germany ... were brilliant. The Soviet Union/Warsaw Pack reacted, didn't lead the events, as best they could. With the fall of the Warsaw Pact and disintegration of the Soviets ... it is a new era, with a unified post-WWII Germany. This is a whole new thing. Watch "Bridge Of Spies" with Tom Hanks to see how things used to be. In the end, Stalin was correct, unified Germany adopted socialism.

As a German or North Bavarian, I was very lucky that my family's home was in the American sector.

What transformed later then, to the Bizone then Trizone and at the end to the "Federal Republic of Germany".

I am grateful that the Ameicans claimed Bavaria as their zone.
Thus, my father could live in the West and the GDR and the STASI could not harm him in his development.

He was born as a West-German.
As a free man.

The soviets killed and haunted millions of people after the ww2. Half of Europe lived in fear, families disappeared, no opinions allowed. That lasted 45 years after the war, every day in their lives.
You people shall not forget this.

We were lucky where I live, up north. Fought the soviets and gained independence.

Just to remember: Allied victory was not only roses.
