Seeing The Sims 1 in 3D Made Me Lose My … Shirt! (Simitone Overview)

The original Sims we all know and love - are now in 3D. Thanks to the development team at FreeSO, who launched Simitone in 2017. Simitone is a BETA application that creates a carbon copy of your original Sims install file, but the game is now entirely in 3D and matched to run on modern PCs.

Please note. You must own a copy of The Sims Complete Collection to install and run Simitone. For information on Simitone, please pay a visit to FreeSO. I strongly recommend downloading the FreeSO launcher from their official website to install and run the application properly. Once you have the launcher installed, you can install Simitone.

wow, had no idea Simitone project existed… I loved the 3D graphics, but I think it would be cooler if they got more nostalgic with the interface, with the white icons and deep blue background… but that’s a small detail, will try this game for sure!

I have heard of this 3D version of Sims 1 for quite some time. I love the look of Sims 1 despite being so dated, it has a certain charm in it's time. The updated UI does need time to get used to but it's not a dealbreaker.

That transition on the start (the flipping or whatever) scared me. Im in the shower atm and the second the animation started i gasped and reached for my phone just to realise that i got trolled by an animation transition

EA should definitely remaster The Sims 1 in 3D and release it (since TS1 is not even being sold anymore). They don't even need to create new meshes for all the objects if they kept the original files. All of the objects for The Sims 1 were originally made in 3D before being converted to 2D sprites. Some of those objects were featured in renders, some of them made their way to the console ports of The Sims 1, etc.

Only thing to note for people who might be interested: The superstar career does not work on Simitone as of this moment. Otherwise I love Simitone!

this looks so amazing. a true dream come true. now if someone will just do the same treatment for Dungeon Keeper 1 and Ultima VI: The False Prophet, I'll have everything I want. oh wait, then I'll just want a 1st person VR mode of each game, too. well. also some let's plays using Simitone would definitely be cool to see.
