I was born and raised just outside of DC, spent my entire career contracting there and I have to tell you, while Jack might have been a highly personable mega-rainmaker and high-flying K Street lobbyist, he wasn't a very smart or a very good one. Good rainmakers and lobbyists are never noticed. They never draw attention to themselves. They are discrete, subtle and low-key. They are like ninja assassins: they never draw attention to themselves as they stealthily go about their business. Jack was a neat guy, a real PT Barnum. He had charisma and personality, but he didn't know how to submerge and go radio silent. That's how you cut your own throat in DC.

This was a very well thought out interview with a very profound underlying purpose. Thank you for sharing.

Funny how just this year he plead guilty to new fraud charges in connection to a cryptocurrency deal. Seems like he hasn't changed and evolved as much as this documentary would have you believe.

Even funnier is how he was convicted under the same law that was amended as a result of his previous actions.

There is a big diffrence between character and ethics among ppl you call friends. If a friend offers me money to take care of an issue - consider it done. Ethics in Government depends on your power base - you can be the best and most unethical at same time - and be successful for a short time.

Like my comment if professors shouldn't be requiring textbooks they author.

I don't understand why at 8'18'' "religious" was put along with nice, smart, reflective, and family loving. Religiousness itself is not a virtue.

These crimes were paved the way by someone who considered himself "moral". Imagine today. Today is the golden age of the Lobbyist and green is a blinding color.

Weird how the biographer says he read the torah every night and Abramoff goes on to say he would read the bible.

Jack Abramoff was born to a Secular Jewish Family, but after watching the Movie Fiddler on the roof decided to practice Orthodox Jewish religion which was the Original religion of his Jewish Ancestors.
Note: Jack Abramoff's ancestors practiced Orthodox Jewish religion.
Note: Actually All Jews who came from Eastern Europe into America Originally Practiced Orthodox Jewish Religion but after 2 to 3 decades in America, the Second generation of these Original Jewish Immigrants shunned the Strict Practices of Orthodox Jewish religion in order to better integrate into American Society and hence many of them Converted to Reform Jewish sect of Judaism which was Less strict and Many of these Second Generation Jews then publicly started identifying themselves as Secular Jewish.

Note: But in Recent decades specially in the post 1960s era things have taken a 180 degree turn and Many young Jews who belonged to Secular Jewish Families have now started getting attracted to Orthodox Jewish faith of their Ancestors, and therefore these Secular Jewish young people have now increasingly started Practicing Orthodox Jewish faith of their ancestors, and many now have even started identifying themselves as Orthodox Jew
