Hello, THAT IS A GREAT IDEA !! I will create a new video ! I got inspired YESTERDAY! I taught a class for the EEO office for Center for Medicare and Medicaid services - CURRENT employees. And the Double Application process that I coach all the time -- they did not know about it. SO, yes, a new video is needed. I"ll add it to my list. My last book, Federal Resume Guidebook, 7th is really good. 17 sample federal resumes. THANKS for your note and getting all my books! I hope your fed career is going well!

As a retired veteran, retired since 2013, this process is easier said than done. I have included the Sched A letter with every single application I have submitted, and after countless applications, referrals, rejections, and cancellations in Aug 2019, I finally received an entry-level offer, which I accepted.

Great tips! I have had several Federal interviews over the past month. I was offered a job with a TS clearance, I'm in the process now. But to all those looking for Federal employment. Do not give up! I only have an Associates degree however I do have a Schedule A letter with alot of experience in Administration. Also, the more documents being submitted the better. Example: cover letter, writing samples, schedule A letter, resume, award letters, etc. And you must cater your resume to the position. This MUST be done and resume must be formatted as a Federal resume not like a regular resume....good luck!

Thank you Ms. Troutman, the the information you gave in your webinar was very insightful. I had no idea that applying under Schedule A was so easy. I was under the impression that applying under Schedule A a was and even longer and more drawn out process. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

One thing to note is that Selective Placement Coordinators and Special Emphasis hiring managers will just tell you to apply on USA Jobs. I've been trying to get out of my agency since 2012 with Schedule A status. All these people say is how to apply for a federal job and tell me "Our agency doesn't do direct hire." Most of these coordinators on the OPM list have no contacts, inaccurate contacts or they're vacant. Of those with emails, they typically never respond. Those that do are unhelpful. I'd like to get a new job the next few months. Willing to work morning overtime but no late afternoons and prefer someone in the local commuting area closer to home. Just do my shift and leave to be with my family. I just want a normal workday in an office with good people. Boring work is fine for me. It shouldn't be this hard.

I have a masters degree in social work and a member of several honor societies. I have been reluctant in applying for federal jobs through schedule A due to one of my friends experience of frustration as he applied through schedule A. He applied multiple times and all he received were regrets. After watching this video i have decided to apply through schedule A. Hope i will be offered a position soon since their closing date is september 30, 2020...

What if I already have a federal government job and want to submit a Schedule A and apply for a new position, will this bypass competitive pay and how can I use this as a current Fed employee?

I use the list but it is severely outdated. I sent a cover letter and email without response. I really want to work for HHS or the VA. Who is the SPC to contact?

Well, some Schedule A HR specialists can introduce you to a manager without a actual USAJOBS announcements. In your case, they are waiting on the posting. Watch for it and apply for it. Then write back to the Schedule A person and tell them that you did apply. Good luck.

I doubt that they have a selective placement person in your location. Just use the main person that’s listed on the website for Social Security in Woodlawn Maryland. That would be headquarters. They can refer you to somebody in your area. Or they can take care of you themselves.

WELL, the book doesn't have any chapter on Schedule A, .... sorry about that. You do know where the list of Selected Placement Program Coordinators is, right? These are the HR specialists who represent and advocate for people with disabilities.

I have your most recent book, however I am unable to locate anything on Schedule A. Would you please point me in the right direction?

You mention that the [SF-15] can be used as of the [Schedule A] Letter. Do I still need to provide the VA issued [Letter of Civil Service Preference]? Do I need additional Documentation, like the VA issued [Benefit Summary]? Is the [SF-15] used in place of the [SF-256] or are they both needed? Does the [Letter of Civil Service Preference] used as proof for the [SF-15] also count as the proof for the [SF-256] or is something else needed?

Hello I love your video and appreciate the tips. I live in NC and I am a FERS retiree and would like to apply for a position with Social Security. In NC, we do not have a selective placement person here so can I reach out to one in Virginia? Just curious.
