I remember watching this at the time and crying my eyes out (and I almost never cry). It was so moving. Lady Gaga could clearly see a part of her in Kitty, how she struggled desperately to become famous and 'make it' in her early years, as she had a unique style, people didn't get her and wouldn't give her a chance. Even though she was so passionate and determined to succeed. Much like Kitty. Gaga also realises that without devoted fans like Kitty, she wouldn't be where she is today, so she's incredibly thankful and likes to treat her most loyal fans really well. Overall, it was just a really kind and generous thing for Gaga to do.
