I've got one minute to review Horizon: Forbidden West. Can Aloy's newest adventure from Guerilla Games and Playstation live up to the original, or does this large open world prove too much?

Genuinely dont understand the hate this game gets. Story is great, combat is excellent, side quests give extra depth to the world and the world itself is honestly the most beautiful ive ever seen. I am more than happy to just wander around the world exploring

Had the same problem, exactly after 10h i was sooo bored, then i paused for 3 months and started again, now i have 40h, the extra 30h were made in the last 5 days, i got so addicted...

I'm late to Horizon but finished Zero Dawn this year and now onto FW and I find it incredible, I can't believe I never played this when it came out.

I watch all the scenes and dialogue and I'm lost in this world, it's brilliant how well crafted the world is

So, everyone complained that side quests were too boring and the characters in side quests had significantly worse animations and va than main quests...

They brought the side quests up to the standard of their main quests, introduced more dialogue to show off how much care had been taken and tied more of the quests to story arcs that evolve as you play giving abetter sense of immersion and accomplishment.

And now you idiots complain that theyre too long....

I feel like this game has the misfortune of being played by a bunch of checklist gamers, being reviewed by a bunch of checklist gamers who are conditioned to treat everything as a checklist.

If you skip all the dialogue just so that its greyed out, spend 10 hours doing everything in the first area as soon as you find it and try to tick everything off the map YOU are a checklist gamer.

Youre making the game into a checklist, you are the problem.

If you play it like a ubisoft game it will feel like a ubisoft game.

If you actually listen to the story in sidequests, do side content when the story takes a break before a big progress quest (which it often hints at throughout) then it wont play like a checklist game and is probably one of the more exploration based open world rpgs since witcher 3.

The only disappointment in this review is the person making it.

I started this game and as of recent been playing more. The game itself is fun, and I actually do side quests more though since I had such a big game, have to pay attention a little more. Overall, this game I definitely am invested more than the first.

The story itself is honestly too bloated/drawn out. There were a few too many sudden plot twists that steered the story in a way that made it difficult to latch onto what was going on. I would have preferred something more with a more focused and in-depth scope.

You should have followed metacritic grading system. 10/10 = soild, 9/10 = great, 8/10 = good, 7/10 = shit, 6/10 = buggy game, < 5/10 = unfinished unrelase.

As you can see by the comments, you're wrong. Its reviews like this that screwed Days Gone. Amazing game that deserved a sequel and it was scrapped because of tasteless reviews like this

Yeah I have a hard time criticizing people who are far more talented than I am ....but!!! God daaaamn do they make it easier lol ....2022 and we're rockin skill trees, fetch quests, and zero interesting characters ??? How do you make "post apocalyptic dinosaur robots meets waterworld"
