Exploring England's SMALLEST City! | Wells, Somerset

Hey everyone! In this video we go exploring in England's smallest city - Wells, Somerset. This was our stop-gap location on the 6 hour drive from Manchester to Lyme Regis on the south coast of England. We headed down to Dorset and Cornwall for Kitti's 30th birthday and managed to do loads of exploring and hiking trails which we are excited to share with you in our South Coast Series!

Wells is officially England's smallest city (or is it?!) and is a beautiful place to wonder around - full of gorgeous architecture and stunning gardens! There's a castle, a cathedral and it is also home to Vicar's Close - the oldest residential street in the whole of Europe!

Stick around to the end of the video as we also search out the eerily named Hell Lane in Dorset, a holloway (sunken road) dating back 300 years! Dorset is full of hollways but Hell Lane is certainly one of the most spectacular and is actually very easy to get to!

Great video guys. These kinds of videos really hit home that there's a lot more to see than I can get to see on a short vacation. Love to see what you guys see when its just a car drive away. My family and I went to the Wells Cathedral but we didn't get the whole tour because we had to leave to get to Tintagel in a reasonable time. But I wish we had had the time.

The brilliant comedy film 'Hot Fuzz' was all filmed in Wells - as Director Edgar Wright went to School here.
Many other films including- 'Elizabeth - The Golden Age', 'The Huntsman-Winters War', 'The Libertine', 'Jack The Giant Killer' and 'The Canterbury Tales' to name but a few, have all used Wells as a filming location. Mainly using the backdrop or inside our stunning St Andrews Cathedral or Vicar's Close.

I have been to Hells Lane and thought it was very interesting, epic and a little spooky. It looks like they may have resurfaced it or at least put some gravel/tarmac down since I went there.
