I've been doing my faceless gaming channel for a little over 2 years and I'd agree, you HAVE to be willing to put in the work. Having something unique helps, at 62, I'm not as flashy as the normal gamers, but there are a lot of "seasoned" gamers that tend to enjoy a more relaxed experience. Also helps to keep up with your niche, learn what's coming around the corner to get a jump on others, or at least not get left behind. A bit of luck also helps. Bottom line, there are no guarantees, hard work matters, and keep your lucky shirt on LOL.

The best faceless channels are tutorials. Anything with your hands. Pick a niche... knitting, crocheting, cleaning, repairs, furniture refinishing, macrame, fly tying for fishing...you name it. Be consistent. Anything you enjoy with your hands doesn't need your face.

I think that the most important thing is to have some kind of strategy (for me it is using some boosting tools, like a little bit of famester from time to time). It works wonders, and it is especially good for faceless channels and brand new channels to help you get to that 1000 subs as fast as possible.
