The boos weren't overwhelming because it isn't in our nature to be mean to our neighbors...it was a bittersweet moment

Loved that Ottawa won the game 6-0. It’s our Jesse Owens moment 🇨🇦

You’re booing Americans, yet your country doesn’t even pay its fair share to NATO, consistently failing to meet the 2% GDP defense spending commitment while relying on U.S. military protection 🪖🇺🇸. Canada imposes massive tariffs—up to 270% on American dairy products 🥛🚫—while enjoying nearly unrestricted access to U.S. markets. The U.S. has repeatedly run trade deficits with Canada 💰📉, even as your country benefits from preferential trade agreements like NAFTA and now USMCA 📜. Canada also depends on the U.S. for over 70% of its exports 📦📊, while American exports to Canada make up a much smaller percentage of the U.S. economy. Not to mention, the U.S. provides billions in defense support, technological advancements, and market opportunities that Canada benefits from without contributing equally.

Yet, instead of blaming the U.S., why don’t you hold your own prime minister accountable? Justin Trudeau has mismanaged Canada’s economy, driven businesses away with high taxes, and failed to secure your borders properly, leading to increased illegal immigration 📉🚧. His reckless immigration policies have overwhelmed social services, and rather than taking responsibility, he blames other nations. Canada has even had to house illegal immigrants in hotels because of the influx, while Trudeau virtue-signals about being ‘welcoming’ without considering the economic strain.

So should the U.S. simply allow so-called allies to take advantage of its economy, security, and resources in the name of ‘friendship’? Alliances should be mutually beneficial, not one-sided deals where America foots the bill while others reap the rewards. NATO allies like Canada and several European nations have repeatedly failed to meet their defense spending obligations, expecting U.S. protection while contributing less.

If defending fair trade and shared responsibilities makes the U.S. ‘selfish, ’ then perhaps the real issue is that some allies have grown too comfortable with American generosity. 🤔🇺🇸

This is the Ottawa I think. The Calgary booing was louder ironically especially considering especially considering Alberta is more MAGA country.
