I'm Gen X, the forgotten generation. But this skit hits home. We just did what we were supposed to do. Granted, we're not perfect either but I think when it came to house rules, we typically abided by them.

TRUTH! I’m Gen X and would have a daily list of chores from a young age that *HAD TO* be completed before I was allowed to leave the house to go hang out with friends. I did them every single day without saying a word and without any allowance or other bribery. And I did them while home without my parents around to even mention them. A list would be just left for me each day.
I explained this to my 10 year old and she said “You did them for FREE?!” I said ‘of course, it was my responsibility and my reward was helping my family while they worked.’ And she looked at me like I was insane.. 😐
