Painting a Toyota Supra | Acrylic & Airbrush

In this video I'm painting a MK5 Toyota Supra as well as sharing my thoughts on Artwork Style.

Style is an interesting topic- how we find our own style and what influences us is really interesting. I personally follow more portrait and graffiti artists then car artists simply because I want to see and enjoy different artwork. How we each arrive at our style though is a continuous journey and I like to experiment and change things up to see what works and what doesn't.

Painting:
Acrylics on 24"x30" Masonite Panel
Liquitex Paints
Createx / Wicked Paints
Iwata Custom Micron Airbrush

I love that the dynamic messy part breathes through not only the final piece but also throughout the whole painting process.

Hey Chris! I keep commenting how big of a fan I'm off your art and what a huge inspiration it is for me to see you work, but I wanted to add that this kind of video where you give us a bit of insight on your thoughts and your process is amazing and would love to see it explored further in the future!

I totally get when you say how much you plan and how much things just happen, because to me most of the time I start with an idea but later on I feel the illustration is doing itself. Like it speaks to me and tells me where it wants us to go.

I guess that's inspiration 😅

Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing ❤

I love your artwork and I'm currently learning how to paint cars, which your video helps a lot. Was hoping you can paint a vintage Ford Mustang sometime! Would love to see more of your videos!

Im an artist. Glass. When i started i copied a lot of stuff to get comfortable. Found my own way w my focus. I tell ppl who ask how to do most things. Some of my linework (i guess we use the same jargon) i dont let go yet taken 4 years to understand but, most things: abcxyz. Im gonna use some ai created images, project em up on a canvas and deconstruct em. Get the idea in but like in a dream. If that makes sence. Hard for me to take an idea from my head to paper cuz im not the fastest drawer or i get dustracted. Using ai ti get the idea on paper and refining it... lol plus i get to stick it to the machines. Love the piece man.

I don't know how you did it, but you managed to make an ugly car look good. Amazing!

Hey! Question for you. If I remember correctly, there was a couple videos you had posted earlier, one was the VW bug front fender shot. The VW had almost a rainbow effect in it's colour. The other one was the '55 gasser black and grey (drippy looking) painting. Did you take them down? I was hoping to see them again.

Awesome. I liked how you could wipe away the paint early on, did you use any thinner on the rag? I use that technique with oils, but when I've tried that with acrylic the paint dries so fast, I end up doing 'messy' around the subject area to keep it clean. Doesn't look as free & loose.
Have you ever tried using liquitex through the micron?
