‘16 Ford Explorer Platinum with Borla Exhaust

I’m on business and have already driven 1895 miles and have another 500+ to go. I’m staying in St. Louis, MO and I thought I’d screw around a little with my iPhone and shoot some sound of my XPL equipped with a Borla Exhaust, Thunderstorm down-pipe and Ecopowerparts hotpipes, CAI and BOV.

Love it or hate it but personally, I love how she sounds and it turns quite a few heads. Enjoy!

UPDATE*** I removed the double glass pack and installed an OEM resonator from a 2019 GT Mustang. It tamed the rasp and almost got rid of the drone entirely. There is a slight drone at cruising speeds between 70-80 MPH, but it isn't very noticeable. The exhaust pitch is much lower and under load, it has a deep growl. I am very pleased with the outcome of this exhaust swap. I hope this helps those of you who find yourself in a similar situation.

Great video! I own a 2016 3.7L Interceptor Utility and struggled to find any info on mods for my specific vehicle. So ive just dove straight into all sorts of projects, Cold Air Intake, Exhaust and a ProCharger without any insight. Its been fairly successful but with its fair share of draw backs. My biggest issue is with Borla Catback exhaust upgrade. For anyone like me with the identical vehicle, the Borla catback made for the 3.5L will work perfectly for the 3.7L BUT please take my advise and do not do it. My 3.7 now sounds like a Honda Civic with a coffee can on the muffler. Ive tried removing the resonator, also replacing it with a double glass pack, all with slightly varying results but still sounding horrible. I am by no means discrediting Borla's products, all im saying is you will also struggle to find a good sounding exhaust for this specific engine size. I am almost $2K into exhaust changes and have yet to find a good middle ground. I am at a loss and left with extreme disappointment, I just wanted to share this warning with you. Any clearance issues with suspension on that wheel set up? With the 10.5s +40 the fitment looks awesome. Just wondering about clerance on the before i purchase! Thanks
