Lol .. as a Floridian, and as a fan of your channel, I certainly don't expect volcano and Florida to be in the same sentence 😂😂😂...

Looking forward to some lovely sunsets!!!

I think a cool thing to do would be to set out a big sheet of adhesive to let particles in the air fall on it, then looking for the ash particles on it. Of course, it'd be better in an area closer to an eruption where you don't have to scour a giant sheet for maybe a couple particles, among all the other normal stuff that'd fall on it

Forcast tonight. Warm and humid. Highs in the mid to upper 60's. 1 to 3 particles of ash may land on your car throughout the night from Popocatépl volcano in Mexico city but you might not even notice. Tomorrow's forcast. Slightly more humid than yesterday. Highs in the mid 80 to upper 80's. 2 to 3 mor particles of ash from that volcano may fall in your region but you'll probably never find them. Sunrise is expected to be vivid. But nothing abnormal.

Reminds me of the amount of ash I delt with when Mount Saint Helens erupted in 1980...

In Saint Louis, Missouri.

Was the darkest, nastiest cloud formation moving over my house, though, especially considering it didn't bring any rain with it.

Thanks as always, Geology Hub!
The way a few stray ash particles may soon reach Florida makes me curious of how large the area of untraceable ash particles (only a few stray ash particles) would be for past eruptions.

Snowfall in the air?
No, volcanic ash.

I woke up in Southern BC to find my tent speckled in a yellow flaky material I thought was pollen. Turned on the radio to hear about Mt St Helens…..

Speaking of Florida, a video examining the geologic formation known as Orange Island would be interesting. By my understanding, one of the oldest portions of land remaining relatively unchanged since the break up of Pangea.

So most likely, a thin dusting.

Do wear a mask outside though just to be safe. You certainly don’t need to be affected by Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, aka Silicosis. Yes, that’s an actual word. It’s the longest word in the English dictionary too.

I remember when it just popped up as a hole in a cornfield.

No worries, we just had our first “cold front”, every backyard fire pit is already pumping out ash aplenty.

You should do a video about wind and their effect when a volcano erupt

Even if a house near the ocean can withstand the winds, they will eventually get swallowed into the ocean, even if built on concrete stilts…lol ppl just never learn. I mean look at what happened to the homes on Galveston beach.

Not to worry. If it's a big cloud of ash, Floridians will shoot it out of the sky.
Floriduh.
