To 'Trust The Science' is Unscientific

Im arguing that the phrase "Trust the Science" is used so that you do not think for yourself. A society where people do not hink for themselves is dangereous because it will slip into a mass psychosis.

You have to be your own scientist so that You can make the informed decisions that are best for you.

'If you want me to believe something then convince me.' This used to be a staple of the citizenry's relationship to government. Now, the inability to be convinced (or even the requirement) is seen a sign of your stupidity. In the marketplace, 'If you can't sell it I won't buy it, ' is the norm. But somehow this dynamic is lost when it comes to government. So if the government can't sell their narrative to you, well, you're now an outsider and a fool.

You see the same dynamic in fanboys. Their cherished developer releases a bad game and the fanboys attack anyone who criticizes it. Probably in part to shield themselves from the realization of having made a poor purchase for a stupid reason.
