I love your paintings! They all look wonderful to me. Thank you for the flip through. I enjoyed it. What a blizzard! We had close to 90 degree weather today in Texas. I was not quite ready for heat like this at the end of Feb. But it was a beautiful sunny day for plein air at the historical park down the road from me. ❤

I have a couple of those Strathmore cotton Art Journals, Sharon and was looking forward to trying them out as an alternative to the pulp paper books which have been giving me so much trouble with blending, layering etc. Now that they've been discontinued, I'm thinking twice about trying them out, because if I like them and get used to them, they'll be gone forever with no further supplies (and your comment about the dulling effect on the paint has also given me pause for thought). I have some other cotton sketchbooks (which haven't been discontinued - so far!) and I might do better to try and get used to those papers, where I can replenish my supplies if I like them.

That's so odd that Stillman & Birn would make a sketchbook that didn't lie flat - after all, it's one of the first things that people look for in a sketchbook, I'd have thought. And, as you say, it probably only needs a softer spine to the book to enable it to do what just about every other sketchbook does. You have some lovely sketches in the Strathmore book, despite your reservations about the paper, so thanks for sharing them with us all.

I totally understand your feelings about losing Diesel. It's coming up on two years since Trish & I lost Pepe and it still hurts. He's the desktop background on my computer and every night I still say 'Goodnight' to him and each day starts off with a 'Good morning' to him too. It's silly, I know, but we all do different things to help with the pain of losing our little ones. Anyway, my keyboard is about to run out of ink so I'll wish you all the best, Brian.

Sharon it may help to put a small strip of masking tape on the desk that is the center of camera view. I can see how it would be confusing sitting across from the camera. You just need a point of reference on where to place what you are working on.
